Beamish is an open air museum that tells the story of life in the North East from the 1820s until the 1940s. We are just at the beginning of planning our expansion of the Georgian area, as well as the exciting development of our brand new 1950s town.

All of the buildings at Beamish have a story; some have been moved stone by stone from another location, whilst others are newly constructed recreations of local historic buildings. This blog follows the progress of our latest projects, providing behind the scenes updates about the development of our museum site.
