Birds of prey would have been common in a rural 1800s landscape, both as part of the wildlife and as hunting partners to local hawkers. This morning there were some feathery visitors in our Georgian area recreating this lost sight.
Clara and John had the unique opportunity to hold and fly Bramley the Barn Owl and Jennie the Harris Hawk, as part of a photo shot to promote our new Hawk Walks. The Hawk Walks will enable our visitors to have a very hands on experience, strolling around our Georgian landscape with a falconer, learning about the history of hunting with birds and and handling a hawk.
