Spain’s Field Farm LiDAR

As the snowy weather continues here at Beamish, we’ve been a little nervous about going up to see Spain’s Field Farm in Weardale and have cancelled a couple of trips on the advice of weather reports recently. Just in case we forget what it looks like, we’ve pulled out the animation we had made from the LiDAR (LIght Detection And Ranging) survey undertaken by Geospatial Research Ltd back in October 2013 (which is much longer ago that we thought – time flies!), and decided to put it up on here! It shows what the farm looked like when we first started working on it, and as such is a great record (although Jim does say it makes him feel dizzy)!
